Privacy
Last updated 1 October 2026.
This is the personal, non-commercial site of João Meira, who is responsible for it: a portfolio and a recipe collection. There are no visitor accounts, nothing for sale, and no advertising or tracking.
What's collected
Anonymous visit statistics, through Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights: pages viewed, country, device type and loading times. They use no cookies and don't identify who you are.
Technical server logs (such as IP address and browser), kept for a short time by Vercel, which hosts the site, to keep it running and secure.
Both are processed on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)): knowing the site works and keeping it safe. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to build a profile of you.
There are no contact or sign-up forms for visitors. Links to GitHub, LinkedIn and Instagram take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies; nothing from them is embedded here.
Cookies and local storage
| Name | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
lang | Remembers the language you chose. | 1 year |
theme | Remembers light or dark mode, if you pick one (stored in your browser, not a cookie). | Until you clear it |
sb-*, last_active | Login session for the site's owner, in the private area only. Never set for visitors. | While signed in |
All of them are either needed for the site to work or only remember a choice you made, so there's no cookie banner.
Where the data lives
The site is hosted on Vercel, and its content sits in a Supabase database in the European Union (Paris). Content is translated automatically by DeepL; no visitor data is involved.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data about you, and you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD, cnpd.pt). Since the site keeps nothing that identifies visitors, there's usually nothing to delete, but for any question you can reach me on LinkedIn.
